Mr. Athanasios Goltsos, OPeR, Operations Management
Thanos Goltsos is a researcher at the Operations Management and ERP systems Research centre (OPeR). He is a Doctoral candidate in the area of Operational Research at the Management Science Laboratory of the Athens University of Business and Economics.
He holds an MSc in Business Analysis and Management (hons.) from Loughborough University, as well as a Diploma in Mechanical Engineering (5 year course, embedded MSc in Industrial Management) from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki.
His current research interests revolve around Operations Research and Combinatorial Optimization. In particular, he is currently working on the integration of the seaside operations of container terminals, namely the integration of berth allocation with the assignment and scheduling of quay cranes.
Thanos has been elected chair of his class of Mechanical Engineers in Aristotle University, Social Secretary for the postgraduate students in Loughborough University, as well as Staff/Student liaison for his MSc programme in the same institution. Thanos is a member of the Technical Chamber of Greece.
